As you are undoubtedly aware, there have been on-going concerns during the past season over the quality of the Yonex AS30 shuttles we have been using . The poor shuttle quality , combined with the significant increase in the cost of all feathered shuttles, has hastened the decision on alternatives.
The RSL Classic Tourney is RSL's top of the range shuttle in the UK, and after careful consideration, and especially given the volume we use, was deemed to be the nearest and best alternative to the Yonex AS30's.
It is hoped that the Classic Tourney shuttles will prove more resilient, and therefore last longer, than the Yonex AS30's have done, but we will be carefully monitoring usage over the months before the start of the new season to see if this is the case.
The new shuttles will start to be introduced in all graded sessions at the beginning of July once the current stock of AS30's has been enhausted. Note: during the changeover period (and for some time after) we will be using AS30's for knockers.
Although we cannot totally rule out a further change in the future, it is hoped that the new shuttles will improve the experience for all sections by reducing the number of shuttles used while maintaining game quality.
