Tennis Reminders

Dear Tennis Member,

As we move on from summer and into autumn, we just wanted to send out a few reminders about care of the courts and club sessions.

KEEPING CLAY ON THE COURTS

As the weather gets damper, more clay will stick to our shoes so it's really important to clean your shoes when leaving the courts. We have some new brushes inside the court gate and the shoe bath can be easily topped up. Please use them!

It is also really important to sweep the courts at the end of each session. Attached is a reminder of what we should all do.

Remember, this is everyone's responsibility so don't leave it to someone else.

CLUB SESSIONS

We decided that we would replace sudden death deuce with a silver deuce during club sessions if others were waiting to play. This has been working well, and we will continue to do this moving forward.

PEG BOARD ETIQUETTE

We have said this before and it is worth repeating.

The peg board rules are clearly displayed, and they are designed to ensure that everyone gets their fair share of games.

We are a friendly club, and these sessions are for social tennis where you should be prepared to play with anyone and everyone.

You will get a mixture of games with players of all levels. Be patient with those who may be a lower standard than you are in the same way that players better than you will be patient with you.

If members are seen to be avoiding playing with any other members, then Gill will be having a quiet word with them to remind them that we all start somewhere/ may be injured, etc and that they should consider how they would feel in that position.

Thanks for your support in keeping our courts in excellent condition and our club sessions fun for everyone!
