Squash Club Championships 2025 - Extended Deadline to 26th Feb.

REMINDER!! DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 26th FEBRUARY

Dear [[firstname]],

You are now invited to register for this year’s Ebbisham Squash Club Championships. Matches will be played starting from 3 March 2025 . Finals nights will be 25 April (for doubles) and 26 April for all others. It is anticipated that the Junior Tournament Finals will be held on the same date.

  • FINALS NIGHT SATURDAY 26 APRIL (from approx. 4pm)
  • PRESENTATIONS AT APPROX. 8.30/9PM, FOLLOWED BY BUFFET FOR ENTRANTS & GUESTS
  • FAMILY & FRIENDS ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND SUPPORT

Please register by Monday 24th February (extended to 26th Feb) . This gives us just a week to organise the handicapping and seeding, and input the tournament bracket. Each round will be given approximately two weeks to be played. Until we know the number of players in each tournament it is impossible to give dates for each round, but you should be able to work it out approximately. If you can’t play in the Final and you are likely to get through to that stage, then you must consider whether it is the right thing to do to enter. I will be as flexible as I can be, ensuring that it is fair for everybody, and everybody plays by the same rules. Please register as described below.

Register to play - What you need to do now:

  • Before you register for each tournament you must ensure that you have enough money in your MyCourts account. The money will be taken automatically. Most events are £5, but £6 for those that have a plate competition. To top up your credit visit: https://ebbisham.mycourts.co.uk/buy_credit.asp
  • Register for each tournament that you want to take part in. Entry can be found on MyCourts under Tournaments: https://ebbisham.mycourts.co.uk/tournaments.asp
  • Championship rules can be found from the Home page under heading Squash & Racketball, click on Squash Championships. https://ebbisham.mycourts.co.uk/index.asp?sid=425&id=4081
  • For Doubles events only ONE player must register and pay.
  • The 2025 Open, Open Doubles, and Handicap are open to all squash members regardless of gender or age. Entry criteria for other tournaments are on the entry forms.
  • Deadline for registration is 24 February

Playing your games – What you need to do:

  • For each tournament, ensure that you know the deadline for that round. If games are not played before the deadline then a bye will be given to the person at the top of the draw. However it is the responsibility of all players to organise their games to be played within the deadline, so don’t wait for your opponent to contact you - contact your opponent and arrange a suitable time to play for you both.
  • Key Dates for completion of each round will be visible on the Tournament website as soon as the bracket is set up. The only set dates will be the finals.
  • All disputes should be reported to me, whose decision will be final.
  • To ensure that you get a free court as part of the Championships you will need to contact the Ebbisham Office via phone or email and request your court time. They will keep a list of the matches booked. Phone the office (between 9am and 5pm) on 01372 720647 or email (at any time) admin@ebbishamsportsclub.com. If you book your own courts they will not be refunded.
  • Once the game has been played the winner must go back into the Tournament bracket and input the score. Hopefully this will be self-explanatory, but if any issues email me.

Finallly, there are 3 women looking for partners in the Mixed doubles tournament - please contact Gillian Mead if you would like to play.

Wishing you all an enjoyable competition.

Gillian Mead
