Tennis Open Day - Saturday 15th April 2023

SATURDAY 15TH APRIL – EXCITING NEWS - TENNIS OPEN DAY FORMAT REVEALED

Dear [[firstname]],

You already have the date 15th April in your schedulers, right? We can now fill you in with some details.

MORNING – We open our doors to the public. Callum and his team will lead free fun coaching sessions for juniors and adults throughout the morning. Hopefully we will attract a horde of prospective new members.

AFTERNOON – Exclusively for members. We welcome 2 mystery coaches – ex-internationals from the Bright Ideas for Tennis Charity who have played on the ATP tour and represented GB in the Davis Cup and have also coached players at the highest level – they will be leading coaching sessions for juniors and adults. Their services are provided to the club for free – all takings to be retained by the tennis section. There will be sessions to suit all ages and abilities, including a tactical master class for team players, plus exhibition matches – 3 x tie-break 10s v Ebbisham’s finest juniors and adults + 2 lucky lottery winners.

Food from the barbecue & home-made cakes will be on sale to sustain you throughout the day.

Want to be involved? And we hope you will! Here’s how...

Sign up for a coaching session with the pros via the office. There will be a charge of £5 for juniors and £10 for adults per session, payable in advance. Places in these sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis, so you need to act fast.

Enter the lottery - £2 per ticket (via the office).

Volunteer - Help will be needed both beforehand & throughout the day – can you help with publicity, tidying up the courts and surrounds, assist Callum out on court, meet and greet our visitors, man the barbie, etc, etc? Speak to a committee member and let them know what you could do.

CHARITY – Bright Ideas have asked if we will support them with donations of new or used tennis rackets, clothing, balls, etc which they will pass on to a tennis charity in Zimbabwe. Please help if you can.

Further information can be seen on the attached documents and yet more will be shared with you in due course by email, WhatsApp and – how retro is that? – via the tennis club noticeboard!

Here’s looking forward to a great day on 15th April!
