Saturday 27 April - Tennis Open day - from 1.30 to 5pm – That’s this coming Saturday!?
As you know, we are inviting members of other Ebbisham sections and the local community, of all ages and abilities, to join us for free coaching sessions with Head Coach Callum and his assistants. There will also be cardio-tennis, a chance to find out how fast you can serve and an opportunity to face the ball machine. There will be a running barbecue throughout the afternoon and a cake sale in aid of the Ebbisham charity – Epsom Canine Rescue. If you want to eat, please bring cash.
Of course we would like you to spread the news amongst your families, friends and neighbours by word of mouth or social media. But we also want you to come along yourselves , take part in the activities (club session is still on from 2pm) and show the world what a great club we are. Offers of help on and off court most gratefully received. See attached poster for details.
Wednesday 1 May - Club championships – Please note: the closing date for entry into the club championships is now only a week away.
In addition to the usual events, for the first time this summer there will be 2 special events for our more mature members – over-50s singles and doubles . Both events are mixed, ie men & women will play each other in the singles and the doubles pairings can be 2 men, 2 women or one of each. All players must be 50 or over on 1 May. Finals day is scheduled for Saturday 31 August ( with over-50s the previous evening) so if you haven’t already done so, make a note of it now.
Monday 6 May – 10am - Bank Holiday Mix-in doubles tournament - followed by BBQ
Open to all members and guests. No need to book – just turn up. Tournament entry fee £2.50 - Prizes for the winning man and woman.
Barbecue £7.50 per head (in cash on the day please). For that, you can enjoy burgers, sausages, Terry’s special chicken, plus a selection of salads and desserts. If you are vegetarian or have other dietary requirements please let us know and we will cater if we can.
