ALAN BAGGETT CHARITY DAY - SATURDAY 20 JULY
Our annual TROPHY in memory of Alan is restricted to 24 players (12 men and 12 women) competing round-robin style in 3 pools + semis and a final. if you want to take part, please contact Jason Moss via WhatsApp. If over-subscribed there will be a waiting list. Even if you miss out on taking part, please come along and support the event.
The draw will be made at 12 noon and play will start at 1pm. The BBQ will be fired up during the afternoon and cakes will be on sale. Play will be followed by music and dancing in the club lounge. Raffle tickets in aid of a cancer charity will be on sale between now and 20 July and the draw will be made that evening. We want to raise as much as possible, so remember to go to the cash point and bring loads of money with you.
Donations of raffle prizes (to Lesley in advance please) and cakes (on the day) would be gratefully received, together with volunteers to help with the BBQ.
EBBISHAM SUMMER PARTY – SATURDAY 6 JULY
While not an exclusive tennis event, we hope that lots of you are planning to come – tickets ( just £10 each ) can be purchased from the office or bar. The ticket price includes a welcome drink on arrival and food. plus dancing to disco music from John Codd. Shaun, Gill and their team of party organisers say ‘Get your tickets pronto’ so they know how many to cater for – and before they sell out. Tennis members are known as the party animals of Ebbisham so don’t leave it too late.
COURT BOOKINGS
Some people we know are having trouble getting a court – with club championships in full swing, inter-club matches, coaching, club sessions, fixed fours, tournaments, etc, etc – there are not enough hours in the day. It may help to subscribe to the Cancelled Court Alerts on the court booking page of the club website. And if you have booked a court and find you can’t use it, please cancel in good time and maybe post a message on the tennis WhatsApp group.

Anil’s recent departure from the committee has left a gap we are anxious to fill. Many of you have ideas on how the tennis section could be improved – it’s time now to step forward and help make things happen. Want to find out what is involved? – speak to one of us down at the club.
